There's never really been much of a regular girl scene in Palm Springs. The majority of lesbians in Palm Springs, like its overall population, are older and not exactly the hip West Coast girls you might be hoping for (though this is changing for the better, ever so slowly). HOWEVER, while Palm Springs isn't the best place to meet your next girlfriend or for girlwatching at the bar, the huge gay male population makes it one of the most accepting cities in the nation. That is what makes Palm Springs truly great -- a desert paradise where you and your girlfriend can walk holding hands or kiss on the street any day of the year without most people so much as glancing at you. It's a fantastic little getaway if you bring your own party.
And of course there's the one weekend in late March/early April every year when lesbians from all over California and around the globe congregate in Palm Springs for the world's biggest lesbian party weekend. You have to do it at least once.

By far the best thing to do in Palm Springs for the past couple of years. Sunday all the young hottie boys come out to play along with the little LA girls in their skimpy bikinis. Even if it's 110 degrees this is the ONLY place to people watch and dream.

LAST TIME WE PARTIED IN PALM SPRINGS THIS BAR WAS CLOSED, BUT CHECK BACK AT THE LOCATION TO SEE IF ANOTHER GAY BAR HAS OPENED IN ITS PLACE. Roam upstairs to get into this match box size bar complete with mini dance floor. Grab one of their drinks and head out on their wrap around patio to people watch curious pedestrians walking by or the flaming gay man with a boa in 100 degree heat.

This restaurant & lounge might be your best bet for people watching on the main drag. A mix mash of all gay types. The food is ok. The drinks are better.

Hunters hosts an ever changing girls night out usually around 7 p.m. on Saturdays or Sundays. The turnout isn't always stellar, but word is getting out and the crowd is growing as groups of younger lesbians from the inland empire are starting to make more regular trips out to the desert. We might go more often except that we rarely make it out to the bar before 9 p.m. There is usually a good man crowd any night of the week though, a fun place to play our "gay boyfriend" game.

Ah, Toucans. This bizarro tiki-themed gay bar complete with dance floor and (male) go-go dancers is always packed on weekends and it is an experience all its own. Unless it's Dinah Shore Weekend this is also where you're most likely to find lesbians out on the town after 10 p.m.

Not as happenin' as HM in other cities, but the crowd is decidedly gay and occasionally you'll see some lesbians at the bar.

This club changes owners and names every few months! But look for this dance club to be happenin' after hours, but mostly with gay men and cool straight folks who are looking for a party after the other bars close at 2 a.m. (or midnight).
